Live edge walnut slab with natural bark edge

Raw Edge Wood

The tree's own outline, kept

We saw slabs the whole width of the log and leave the natural edge on. No two are alike — which is exactly the point.

Slabs & Character Lumber

Sawn here, dried here, finished here

Raw edge wood means the natural curve of the wood is left on, so the wood's natural beauty is preserved. It can be turned into bookshelves, fireplace mantles, bar tops, kitchen counter tops, expanded interior window ledges, furniture and more.

We have a 24 inch planer that lets us smooth the slab — so you are not just getting the rough cut piece of wood that is sometimes offered elsewhere. You can take these pieces unfinished, or stained and varnished.

Crotch figure, spalting, burl, curl and worm track — the features a production mill trims off are the ones we save. Available in walnut, white and red oak, cherry, maple, poplar, cedar and sycamore as stock allows.

Call or email Ken Barnett for quotes and assistance on pieces; he will reply as soon as possible. (762) 217-3900 · ken@heavyhorsewoodworks.com
